Questions to ask first

When you sell and buy a home in Amsterdam, two timelines run together. Write down the desired transfer date for your current home, the funding for the next home and the period in which temporary housing may be needed.

Check who controls each date. The selling agent, buying agent, mortgage adviser and notary work with different documents and deadlines. Keep agreements in writing and ask early which condition gives you room when one date moves.

For the new purchase, read the steps from viewing to keys and place the amounts beside the cost overview. This makes it easier to see which own funds remain after the sale.
